Ok, so you think you're ready for the toad medicine. The Sonoran Desert Toad, the Bufo Alvarius Toad, the Colorado River Toad. 5-MeO-DMT.
First up, you should know that this is a powerful experience. POWERFUL.
Smoking the toad venom, you are likely to have ego-dissolving complete mystical experiences. Unbelievably and incredibly more transcendent than psychedelic medicine like psilocybin, ayahuasca, or even ibogaine.
During an ayahuasca retreat or a psilocybin experience, a ceremony typically lasts around 4-6 hours. With vaporized 5 MeO DMT, the peak effects of an experience typically lasts just 10-15 minutes.

With plant medicine like ayahuasca or psilocybin, you can ease into the experience, and you have more time to work with the psychedelic medicine.
With the Sonoran Desert Toad, you quickly enter a non-dual state, where subject and object become one.
With plant medicine like ayahuasca or psilocybin, it is common to be shown lessons that relate to the past, and have time to calibrate, explore, and even sit up to write down the learnings to be integrated.
With the Sonoran Desert Toad, you will have a strong mystical experience and life lessons, but it is not so much "attached to your story", and it's important to be well-prepared mentally, emotionally, physically, and energetically.
If you are beginning your soul quest with a 5-MeO-DMT retreat, make sure you put in the necessary preparation work. If you feel ready for a 5 MeO DMT experience, lets get into it.
5-MeO-DMT is a powerful psychoactive substance of the psychedelic tryptamine class, and derived from the Bufo Alvarius Toad venom. It is also available and more ethical in synthetic form.
The dried toad secretion (yep, sorry) is generally accepted to be many times more powerful than the better-known DMT, or spirit molecule, and should not be confused with the Kambo frog medicine (phyllomedusa bicolor).
The inhaled vaporized toad bufotoxin facilitates the absolute strongest mystical type experiences.
Fun fact: 5-MeO-DMT is contraindicated with DMT. Avoid any retreats that combine the two (and yes, the do exist)
Benefits of 5-MeO-DMT are comparable to other psychedelic medicine, known for their ability to support healing, growth, and for spiritual exploration.
5-MeO-DMT has been shown to have psychotherapeutic effects that alleviate anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, addiction, and other mental health and psychiatric disorders. To heal past trauma, negative thought patterns and behaviors, and help overcome limiting beliefs.
In addition, in controlled clinical trials 5-MeO-DMT stimulates neurogenesis and profound neurological healing effects, for example healing compartmentalization in the brain.
Well, if you're not already a believer in transpersonal psychology, 5-MeO-DMT will switch that up for you pretty quickly.
Upon activation in your serotonin receptors, you can kiss any semblance of the 3D gooooodbye. To say this experience is of spiritual significance is quite an understatement.
You will be travelling far, and you will be travelling fast. This is why it is so critical to be expertly facilitated by someone who can ensure your rocket ship is pointed skyward.
The mystical effects of all psychedelic medicine escapes natural language. 5-MeO-DMT is on an entirely different level, recognized to be orders of magnitude more powerful.
We won't say more than that here, but please do your research. If you would like to learn more about 5-MEO-DMT experience, check out the video below.
This is an example of what is possible when people are well-facilitated with 5-MeO-DMT, and likely the account of many journeys combined into one description, and overlooking some of the challenges that do occur. In order to reach and explore the higher levels of consciousness, it is also common to experience and clear some of the lower-level energies.
If you're looking for a world-class contemporary retreat, consider our retreat in Tulum, Mexico.
In case it wasn't already clear, for this particular psychedelic journey we would encourage you, dear reader, to do a lot of pre-work before selecting a retreat / facilitator, and be methodical in how you approach your decision-making.
We would recommend spending significantly more time and energy than you might for an ayahuasca journey or a retreat with psilocybin mushrooms.
The toad medicine is really, really not an experience you want with any-old-shaman or self-proclaimed healing practitioner. You want to do this with an expert retreat facilitator that has guided a considerable number of rituals or ceremonies, and in whom you have 100% confidence.
Spend time on the phone with potential facilitators to get to know them, and be ready to ask them plenty of questions.
Here are a few questions you should ask. Compare and contrast the answers. Who do you feel most comfortable with? Why? The idea here is to establish a broad set of information to help you make an informed decision:
Most importantly, look for a retreat that reflects your values, and the type of energy that you aspire to.
Getting this decision right could be a life-changing experience for you, with transformational healing and growth benefits.
1) Stand-alone 5-MeO-DMT retreat. There are a number of retreat centers out there that only provide the toad medicine, often in combination with other more natural modalities like yoga, meditation, sweat lodge, and sometimes even as part of a darkness retreat experience.
2) Combined retreat. There are a number of retreat centers that combine 5-MeO-DMT with high dose psilocybin truffles / magic mushroom, or ibogaine. Again, do not mix with Ayahuasca or other DMT-based medicines.
If you are interested in a 5-MeO-DMT experience, please get in contact with us and we can get to know each other a little better. This is not something we actively advertise, but we do facilitate for the select few clients that are ready.
